Waterproof Dog Collars

Almost perfect Would you recommend this product?.: Yes! We’ve been through about 6 collars before I bit the bullet and bought this one. According to many reviews, it was stiff and hard to put on, but in my opinion it’s just like every other waterproof collar out of the box, if not more pliable. The conway buckle is perfect, I love that my dog won’t scratch her collar off ever and there’s no risk of it falling out of the buckle. The pink is pretty mellow compared to the picture but that is fine, it’s still plenty pink. The single thing I dislike about it is that it turned out to be HUGE. Usually my dog wears 22″ collars and so I ordered the 20-23″ inch thinking it would be a perfect fit.. It’s still large even on the smallest hole. It won’t slide over her head easily, but it’s not tight by any means. If I didn’t rip it out of the packaging in excitement I would have returned it for a smaller size. I do like that the rest of the collar still sits against her neck and isn’t flapping in the wind, though. Overall I’m very pleased with it and I’m happy it will still be looking new even after many romps in the Oregon rain.

BioThane is yet another waterproof and weather resistant webbing product. It’s made of polyester webbing with a TPU or PVC coating. BioThane is much more durable and easy to maintain than nylon or leather. It’s an American made product which we use to construct our camouflage, reflective, and fluorescent waterproof dog collars.

Stylish, 100% waterproof and forever odor-free, Muck Dog Collars are the perfect solution for dogs who love to explore. The special flexible coating allows your dog to swim, roll and romp through the great outdoors, but doesn’t allow any of that outdoor dirt to get inside the collar and stink it up. When you’re done for the day, just run water over the collar and it comes clean in seconds.

Not good Would you recommend this product?.: No Let me echo some of the other comments. First, the collar itself feels like cheap plastic. if you are accustomed to Ruffwear’s other collars (I have several), this is markedly different. The prong doesn’t move, which is very strange and I’m not sure of the logic behind it. My dog’s neck is 24″, so I ordered the 24-26 and it’s so enormous that it doesn’t fit at all. I’m sending it back tomorrow and I don’t want another, only my money back. I’ll put up with washing his other collars after a swim — because of the immovable prong, the poor sizing, and the cheap feel, this is just a huge disappointment.

Soft grip is a waterproof material originally developed for horse bridles, halters and reins. The center of the collar contains a polyester webbing, which is then coated in PVC. It might not sound like it, but this material is incredibly pliable, soft, and durable. Customers compare its look and feel to leather. In addition to their flexibility, our soft grip dog collars can withstand water, cold, heat, and smells.

Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications and textiles, including ropes. This material is rugged and resistant to fading and odor absorption. Like soft grip, polypropylene collars are soft and flexible. Polypropylene is Mendota’s preferred material for collars and leads.

Great concept Would you recommend this product?.: Yes! My dog spends a lot of time in the river with me fly fishing, so the coated collar is a great idea. No more stinky collars! However, the attachment stitching for the tags came loose so Ruffwear replaced it, great. Then, on the new collar the tags came off altogether via the tags retainer clip. No idea where they came off, costingus new tags. Small details on an otherwise great collar

good quality, sturdy, bright color, seems waterproof, doesn’t smell Would you recommend this product?.: Yes! First impression, this is a stiffer collar than her other ones, so don’t expect this to be super soft material. The buckle is different than any others I have used, as the prong doesn’t move independently from the buckle, so it’s a bit weird to get used to using. I didn’t measure her neck (rookie mistake) so her collar was way too big, so I put two more holes in it to make is smaller. Had I ordered the correct size (she probably needed around 11 inches) it would fit her really well. Now she just has a long part but it actually has been useful to grab and use as a mini leash. It has been in the ocean many times, camping, rolled around in, and HAS NOT left any color on her (she’s a white and black dog). So far, I am very pleased. I expect this collar to last a long time. It has the Alaska lab stamp of approval.

The tag holder is easy to get tags on and off, but the section that is bent up sliced through my tights and into my leg, ouch, I took it off right then and there. Yes it is way too big, I cut mine to fit. The folks at doggie daycare had to ask me how to operate the buckle, once you figure it out, it is easy. And it is pretty stiff at the beginning. Why I still like it: It is lightweight and secure, it holds it’s color and shape once the dog wears it in. The color sheds hair and looks nice even after near daily swims and rolls in the dirt.
